525,600 Minutes

Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Moments so dear
Five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes
How do you measure-- measure a year?

In daylights-- in sunsets
In midnights-- in cups of coffee
In inches-- in miles
In laughter-- in strife

In-- five hundred twenty-five thousand
Six hundred minutes
How do you measure a year in the life?

How about love?

Seasons of love.

If I had to list my Top Ten Songs of All Time, this song would be very high on my list. It's a beautiful song from the musical Rent. I've never seen the musical, but I love the music and lyrics to this song.

The reason I'm talking about this song today... it is my One Year Blog Anniversary.

One year that I have written about my husband, my son, my extended family and my friends.

Here is my first post.

I always love talking about Perry and his sweetness.

My husband always gives me something to talk about - whether it be good or bad.

I loved participating in the Christmas Homes Tour sponsored by Boomama.

This year has been measured in love, in moments, in good times, in bad times...

And I love sharing it all on this blog.

Now, if you are one of those rare humans that do actually read my blog, please leave me a comment telling me who you are, how long you have been reading my blog, and ask me anything you would like to know that may or may not have been answered on my blog.

Really, I'm serious. Anything.

Now I'm going to go and do something useful like make an appointment to have my toes cleaned and polished.

But in the meantime, please feel free to come back and visit me next week as we finish our school clothes shopping, celebrate another end of the season baseball party, begin the third grade with a brand spankin' new teacher and pray for a drastic temperature drop in our neck of the woods.

It's all good stuff here at The Comfort Zone.

Hi Lori - Happy Blogiversary!

I just started reading your blog a couple of weeks ago. I can't remember how I got here, but I was captivated by your header picture. That looks like such a nice spot to sit and read and just enjoy life.

I'm a bit (HA!) older than you and raising my almost 17 year old granddaughter - she decided to live with us to finish her last 2 years of high school. It's been quite an experience so far - one more year to go.

Stop by and visit some day.

Hooray Lori!! I can't remember when I started reading, but I am SO GLAD that I did. I love this post and I've loved getting to know you via your blog. I can't think of a question..I'm a bit brain dead tonight. If I think of one, I'll come back.

Hugs.

:-) Susan

Oh my gosh! I honestly cannot believe that it's been a year. I have been here since the beginning, being the second person that you told (after Katrina), I think. Maybe Phil knew.

I am so glad that you jumped in, and I think that you are a great blogger. You say things that are on your heart, and by doing so, you cause us to examine our own hearts. Keep it up!

I'd like to ask what you like best about blogging, and if you want to share what you like least, you can do that too.

Happy Anniversary! I too love the song...have never seen the show, but love the music.

I have been reading for 6 months? I really don't know.

Here are my questions (thought I would make up for those that didn't ask!):

Where did Phil take you on your first date?

If there was one store where you were given a shopping spree, where would you want it to be?

What is the one thing that you did not expect about being a mother?

I'm a little late to the party, but Happy Blogiversary!

As you know, I've been reading you from the beginning and I'm so glad you decided to blog and that you've been at it for so long!

Hmm... a question, huh? How about...

I know that none of us want to determine our children's future or pressure them to be anything, but when you look at Perry, his strengths and interests, his passions and abilities, what could imagine him being when he grows up?

Sorry this is late but congratuations on your year of blogging! I love the 525,600 minutes song. I really enjoy reading about you and your family. I see you've already answered your questions. I would have asked you what your perfect day would be like. We've been away for a week so I'm a bit behind in reading blogs. I really missed that.
