Happy Valentine's Day
I love the excitement of a child... especially ours.
Last night Perry had a hard time falling asleep. He sleeps like a rock once he is finally asleep, but going to sleep can be a feat in and of itself. And last night was no exception. And when he can't sleep, he gets very upset and has even a harder time trying to get to dreamland. He sobbed in his bed last night for fear that he would never get to sleep. I laid down next to him rubbing his back, soothing him down, whispering his songs to him that were playing on his CD player.
This morning he comes running into our bedroom, all smiles and beams as he yells...
"Happy Valentine's Day! Finally! I was so excited about it last night, that's why I couldn't sleep."
So excited for Valentine's Day that he couldn't sleep. He makes our heart explode.
Phil - my best friend and love forever - thank you for being my teammate in the game of our life.

Aww, that's so precious.
Camden gets the same way when he can't fall asleep -- he gets all stressed out, turns his clock to face the wall so it's not a reminder of how late it is, etc... But a nice chat, etc. from mom plus a calming CD usually helps him settle down.
Yes, Amanda's the same way--the longer she's awake, the more worried she gets.
I still remember your sweet story about the "boon" in his bathroom long long ago!!
